Start lead climbing outdoors! This one day outdoor course covers all lead climbing skills required to pass an indoor lead belay test including, rope management, tips for smooth & fast clipping, and belay techniques.

This one day accelerated lead climbing course is for participants with some previous indoor lead climbing experience. Skip the clipping and belay skills and jump straight into learning anchor building, cleaning, the differences between leading indoors and outside, and risk management at the crag.

Over two days these small group courses will cover all the skills to take you from top rope climbing indoors to lead climbing outside. The first day will cover the fundamental lead climbing skills including rope management, clipping techniques, and lead belay. Then day 2 will cover the outdoor lead skills including anchor building and cleaning skills, protection considerations, risk management and safety consideration for outdoor lead, as well as plenty of time to practise and get personalised feedback .
To get the most out of this program, participants should be able to top rope 5.8 comfortably. Some top roping experience outdoors is recommended.

Booking Confirmation and Itinerary
After registering for a course or completing a custom booking request you will receive an email confirmation and an itinerary for the course. A pre-trip emailed will be sent 2-3 days prior to the course/confirmed booking date to confirm location, meeting place and time, and any weather or conditions considerations.
Transportation
Guests are responsible for their own transportation to and from the trip location.
Weather and Cancellation Policy
All programs will run as scheduled unless weather conditions are deemed to be a risk to the group. Participants should pack appropriate clothing for all possible weather conditions and for extended time outdoors.
